Wondering what's best to see in New Zealand? Given the country's incredibly varied topography (which includes mountains, volcanoes, and fjords), it can be hard to pinpoint exactly how you should spend your time. To help you hone in on what you can't miss, here are some definitive highlights:

Waitomo Caves

There's a reason these have been one of the country's premier tourist destinations since the early 20th century. These incredible caves literally light up thanks to a unique species of glow worms that live inside. As a visitor, you can arrange for a boat tour beneath these incredible arachnocampa luminosa.

Sea tours

Taking a tour of New Zealand by sea is something not to be missed. Travel companies like Juzy Cruize can arrange for you to spend the day marveling at the country's incredible coast, as you share the seas with some of the planet's most amazing ocean species. Odds are you'll see a whale or two before you're through!

Lord of the Rings tour

Beginning in Wellington, this prolific tour allows you to relive all the film's most epic moments in the real locations where they were filmed. It's perhaps the next best thing to finding a magic ring that allows you to become invisible…

If you're looking for a new way to see a New Zealand on vacation or as a local, you may not have considered a cruise. Most people often only think of cruises as a long-term vacation activity, and in doing so overlook all of the benefits that a short-term cruise can offer.

An excellent example is evident in the cruises offered by Jucy Cruize, a company based in New Zealand. While you kick back and relax as the passenger on one of Jucy Cruize's boats, you'll have the opportunity to see all Milford Sound has to offer. Views from the ship include waterfalls, wildlife, rainforest, and more!

To be sure you take in the sights, Jucy Cruize boats have not one, but two viewing decks, each one offering you fantastic views of all Milford Sound has to offer!

No matter what part of the country you live in; a trip to the scenic Milford Sound in New Zealand is something that should be on your bucket list. Set against a backdrop of majestic mountains and sparkling water, the area is a popular destination for coach day trips, overnight cruise visits, and even the unique flightseeing in a small airplane. Here are some of the popular items to check off your must-see notes:

Visit the Te Anau Worm Caves

One of the most pleasant and awe inspiring locations on the Milford Sound is the Te Anau Worm Caves. The adventure starts off with trekking through unique waterfalls and underground formations and culminates in being lead through the paths by the  illumination of thousands of glowworms overhead.

Walk the Hollyford Track

This 3-day trek will test your physical willpower but will also enlighten your spirit and mind. There are two lodges along the path of the Hollyford River and visitors enjoy the combination of outside adventure with indoor relaxation.

Take a Coach Tour Through the Mountains

Traveling by bus through the Fiordland National Park is a great way to spend an afternoon viewing incredible sights and amazing landscapes but in the comfort of a luxury motor coach.

Booking a cruise with your partner can be a fantastic chance for romance. Most couples don't have a lot of time to spend together during the day, and a cruise can be your chance to have a calming, soothing journey together. There are a few ways you can spend your cruise strengthening your relationship, rather than drifting apart.

Starting by touring the ship together. Learning the new environment together will ensure you both know the same places, and their physical locations. If you need to meet up somewhere later, you'll know where to head. Likewise, now is a good time to pinpoint activities and locations that you're both excited about.

Avoid splitting up. A scenic cruise can be exciting, entertaining, and entrancing – it can be very tempting to split up and explore different activities on your own. Be sure to spend at least half the day together, doing something you both enjoy. At the end of the day, you can come together to talk about what you experienced, both together and apart.

Make friends. No, really. Make an effort to talk to new people at dinner, and rub elbows with other couples exploring the ship. As odd as it may seem, making new friends together can strengthen your bond and give you something new to talk about together.

No matter how excited you are to head out and explore the ship, be sure to head to bed together, and to head to bed early (at least the first night). A new experience will be exhausting, and with unpacking, exploring, and being on the water all day, you're likely more exhausted than you realize. Make a deal with each other to head to bed at a normal time, and to do it together. You'll feel sparks as you cuddle up together, glowing from your first day aboard the ship.

If you're vacationing outside of your own country, you may be wondering what, exactly, you should do whilst abroad. There are so many options, it can be hard to whittle them down into a true itinerary. Here are some general goals for you to try and accomplish on your trip.

The most important aspect of any trip abroad is to meet the natives. Far too many vacations are spent squirreling yourself away from the local people, but the very best trips are spent learning and living with those who reside in the area. Not everyone will be friendly, but many of them will be – feel free to walk up confidently to people and strike up a conversation. You'll learn far more from a local than you would from a tour guide!

Why not go on a cruise? Cruises can show you some of the best sights in the area, while letting you rest, relax, and recuperate from the rest of your adventures. Before you head out to your location, be sure to check prices online for cruises in the area – you'll likely get a better deal if you book ahead. For instance, if you're headed to New Zealand, search online for cruises in NZ in order to find the best deals before you go.

Lastly, be sure to see landmarks that you will only be able to experience in that area of the world. If you went to Paris, you'd feel obligated to visit the Eiffel Tower, right? There are landmarks like this in every place you visit, no matter how rural. If the landmarks aren't apparent, be sure to ask locals about what they would suggest visiting. Often times, the local people will know hidden, secret locations that turn out better than the more highly advertised spots!

Wherever you go, and whatever you do, remember that the key to enjoying a vacation abroad is getting to experience all the things you couldn't see or do at home. Be fearless in your pursuit of the new and unusual – and, most of all, have fun!

Milford Sound DolphinWhat a week for wildlife here in Milford Sound!

The dolphins have been out in force, surfing the bow wave and having a wonderful time doing it!

Also, it is coming towards the end of the season for sightings of the Fiordland Crested Penguin, but it seems that they have been taking every opportunity they can to say hello before they leave!

There have also been some sightings of Humpback Whales out in the Tasman Sea and some very lucky sailors were treated to a full breach from an adult male!

There has never been a better time to visit this beautiful part of the world, the sun has been shining, the wildlife has been playing and our new boat The Maiden of Milford has never looked better!

When you think of a vacation, what comes to mind? Wildlife? Waterfalls? Cliffs and stunning natural beauty?

Well, if this is what the word brings to your mind's eye, allow us to bring you even closer and make it a reality. We're Jucy Cruize cruises and our destination is Milford Sound. This gorgeous location found southwest of South Island in New Zealand, brings to life two waterfalls that flow from your dreams year-round, and hundreds more that temporarily pop up (and last a few days) after a heavy rain. Fed by rainwater-drenched moss covering sheer rock faces, they are a sight to behold.

Jucy Cruize cruises also get you far closer to the action. How so? Well, gone are the cramped conditions of overcrowded ships that require a good pair of binoculars to see the beauty. No…now you can be taken up close and personal in smaller and far less crowded boats. You have to see it all to believe it.

With between 500,000 and a million tourists a year, Milford Sound is one of the places to be when it comes to getting away from it all.

Boasting rainforest-covered sheer cliffs, whale-watching, dolphins aplenty, and penguins calling it home as well, Milford Sound is the getaway that was nearly missed.

What do we mean? European explorers initially overlooked it because it didn't appear to lead to any sizable bays. Luckily they thought different later, or this once called 8th Wonder of the World would be the best-kept secret no one knew about!

More than wildlife, however, Jucy Cruize cruises gets rid of the chaotic and over-packed ships that cruises often bring to mind. No; we use far less crowded boats that get you closer than you ever thought possible to that wildlife, but also beautiful waterfalls and the stunning landscape that Milford Sound offers.

Come see the almost-missed tourist destination for the ages and let Jucy Cruize cruises get you there!

Okay, so it's a play on words. Milford Sound is a gorgeous and stunning tourist destination that rivals the best of them!

And how to get there is taken care of, provided you choose Jucy Cruize cruises. With the dreaded overcrowded ships alleviated with smaller, less crowded boats, Jucy Cruize cruises get you up close and personal with the wildlife, waterfalls and rainforest that is the stunning Milford Sound.

So just how does Milford Sound…er sound? We'd venture to guess it sounds more and more amazing every second you spend just thinking about it!
